Ripley Castle pre wedding shoot with Lois and Luke.

Luke and Lois are very excited about their wedding day. They have had their day planned for the last couple of years and I just cannot believe how fast the 2 years have gone by since they booked their photography.
Their whole day will be spent celebrating at Ripley Castle in North Yorkshire.
I love Ripley Castle, it's a beautiful venue and we decided to meet there for the pre wed shoot so we could explore the estate and gardens after catching up over a cup of tea!

Lois and Luke were pretty relaxed in front of the camera and we made use of Ripley's gorgeous walled garden and the woods. The wisteria looked fantastic and I love the shots of them in front of it. So take a peek at a few of the images from their shoot.
Can't wait to shoot their big day!

Thanks Lois and Luke!! x

Anna and Andy - Cheshire wedding

I travelled down to the beautiful little village of Farndon in Cheshire just on the Welsh border at the weekend to shoot Anna and Andy's wedding day.
Friday evening was spent attending the church rehearsal and then scouting out photo shoot locations down on the banks of the River Dee. Its a gorgeous location with some fantastic backgrounds to use.
On the morning of their wedding day I spent the morning at Anna's parents house with lots of family busying themselves getting ready.
Anna looked absolutely stunning, her hair and make up were just beautiful and she was so relaxed. She has the most amazing smile!

They spent most of the ceremony giggling and looking at each other and it was a really lovely ceremony.....

Followed by an impressive confetti tunnel.....

followed by a walk through the quiet village back streets and time alone by the river for their Bride and Groom shots.

They were whisked away from the river in their open top car and enjoyed a lovely relaxed reception at Cheshire View. The weather was glorious and guests enjoyed drinks and canapes outside in the sun whilst we took some family photos. There were some emotional speeches, quite a lot of tears from the girls followed by games on the huge lawn and topped off by some epic moves on the dance floor!!
All in all, a fabulous wedding. I enjoyed every single minute, and I even got a bit of a tan!
Congratulations Anna and Andy!

Anna and Andy - Pre wedding shoot sneak peek.

The Bolton Abbey Estate is a real favourite for people having a photo shoot. I have photographed there on many occasions. People have great memories of spending time there as kids or bank holiday weekends or just out walking. So they pick Bolton Abbey because of fond memories.
I am used to the spots with great light and know which places to use in which seasons for great backdrops. But you have to keep things fresh and new and I try not to use the same recipe for all my shoots there.
So when I met Anna and Andy down at the ruins to start their shoot, my aim was to use places that I haven't photographed before as much as possible.
Here is a look at some of the images....

Thanks Anna and Andy! x

Chris and Zoe's Wedding at Christ Church, Skipton.

I was really looking forward to being part of Chris and Zoe's wedding celebrations. They are such a relaxed and friendly couple and fun to be with I just knew it would be a fun day to shoot.
Zoe spent a relaxed morning getting ready with her Bridesmaids at home, there was lots of laughter, a few nerves and lots of champagne being drunk. Zoe received a gift from Chris with a little note which was an emotional few minutes and Zoe had sent Chris a little package which included a pair of socks to stop him getting cold feet! Brilliant. We had time for some great portraits of Zoe and the girls which I shot outside using a white painted garden wall as the background which I loved. Then it was off to Church to meet up with the boys before the ceremony.
They were married at Christ Church at Skipton in front of lots of family and friends, Zoe looked beautiful, I loved her dress. So so pretty.
Afterwards we made our way up to Rolls Royce Leisure in Barnoldswick for the reception. We decided to come back outside to do some more Bride and Groom photography in the early evening. The light was great, and we used all sorts of backgrounds. The great thing was that Zoe and Chris were happy for me to try out some more unusual ideas, so as well as using the green garden and trees for backgrounds we also tried out old peeling walls and disused buildings. So they will get really unique wedding photos and a great mix of traditional and contemporary backdrops.
Here is just a handful of shots that I love from the day..........

Congratulations Zoe and Chris!! Thanks for a great day X

Janine and Robert's Wedding at Stirk House, Lancashire.

Yesterday I had the great pleasure of photographing Janine and Rob's Wedding Day at the lovely Stirk House Hotel at Clitheroe in Lancashire. Now this is a couple who are truly at ease together, totally besotted with each other and look so very cute together. I had been looking forward to their wedding for ages because I had a feeling it would be relaxed and lovely. And it was.

Stirk House was a new venue for me and I was really excited to shoot there.
After a blustery week, the weather decided to calm down and and the sun shone all day long.

The girls spent the evening before at the hotel and were calmly having hair and make up done when I arrived. It was very chilled out and I really enjoyed spending the morning with them. Such lovely girls and obviously great friends. They really all looked amazing! It was fun and entertaining!

The boys arrived early, so we spent some time in the grounds taking some portraits and running through things.

Janine was truly a beautiful bride. She looked fabulous, so so pretty.

There was a huge cloud of confetti, it was very impressive!

We made use of the lovely soft evening light after the wedding breakfast to get some beautiful shots before the evening guests arrived.
I had a great day, thank you so much Jan and Rob for choosing me for your photography and congratulations on your wonderful wedding day. Thanks to all the family and friends for making me feel so welcome. Congratulaions Mr and Mrs Head..............enjoy the tiny sneak peek of images......

Lindsay and Jack - Wedding

Snow was still on the ground, and it was really cold out of the sun, but thankfully the weather turned out to be beautiful for Lindsay and Jack's wedding. They were married at St Thomas' Church in Sutton in Craven  joined by just over 60 family and friends. The ceremony had a lovely intimate feel to it.
Lindsay wore a beautiful Ian Stuart gown and Kurt Geiger heels, she looked absolutely stunning while Jack looked  fantastic in his Royal Marine's dress uniform. The Vicar even agreed by announcing that they were  "a very handsome couple"!
Their gorgeous son, little 10 week old Harry, stole the show in his brilliant wedding outfit complete with Royal Marine Beret to match his Dad.
A vintage bus whisked the guests away to The Devonshire Arms at Bolton Abbey for the reception where their guests were very brave for some photos outside. Thanks everyone! It was sooooo cold!

So here is a very small peek at a few of their images,  ill be working them all for the rest of the week.

Congratulations Lindsay and Jack! x
