Charlotte and Gavin - Pre Wedding Shoot

My good friend Charlotte is getting married to Gavin in early July at Allerton Castle, North Yorkshire. I am really honoured to be asked to be their photographer, its extra special to create wedding images for friends and I'm really excited about it.
We finally met to do the pre wedding shoot at Bolton Abbey after being forced to cancel twice due to the ridiculous rain over the last few weeks.
The light was perfect and the Bolton Abbey Estate was nice and quiet in the late afternoon. It is still one of my favourite pre wedding locations because the light and landscape changes so dramatically through the year and in different weather conditions.
After we had a natter and a catch up (which took care of about an hour or so) we got round to some photography!!

Gavin had been practising his smile for weeks in front of the mirror so I was looking forward to seeing the results;)
Charlotte is very natural in front of the camera and photographs really well so it was an easy job. As a couple, they are constantly smiling and laughing and a pre wedding shoot is a brilliant way to see how a couple interact together and what approach to take with the photography.

I had a great afternoon and Charlotte and Gav are a fab couple and easy and fun to photograph!

Thanks you two. Emily X

Louise and Ian - Wedding

Louise and Ian were married at the Ilkley Baptist Church on King's Road on Saturday 2nd June. I spent the morning with the girls at Louise's parents house, getting shots of her fabulous gown, shoes and the girls getting ready.
It was quite a chilled out morning, the weather stayed fine and it was nice light and it didn't rain! Louise was greeted at Church by some work colleagues who had come to wish her well before the ceremony. The Church was packed with around 120 guests.
After a lovely ceremony with readings from Louise's Aunty and Grandma and a solo from Louise's cousin (which was brilliant), we headed over the road into the gardens for photos.
The reception was held in a marquee at Woofa Bank Farm on Silsden Moor and as guests headed to the celebrations, Louise and Ian and I headed down to the river for some Bride and Groom shots.

Here are just a little peek at my shots from the day.

Guests were waiting at the marquee and were treated to drinks and canapés whilst we finished the photos.
After dinner and speeches the evening guests arrived and the girls took to the dance floor. It was a real party atmosphere!
Congratulations Louise and Ian and thanks to all the guests for being good sports about being dragged outside for the big group shot in front of the tractor! Thanks everyone........
