Esmae - New Born Shoot

I had the pleasure of photographing little Esmae recently. She was just 12 days old and soooo cute!
In just a few weeks she will look so different and its such a special time when they are so brand new. I like to photograph new borns in there own surroundings, where everything is near to hand and that way I can take my time and work around feeding and sleeping routines.
Here are just a few shots from the session. I loved it. Look at those feet!! Too cute.

Catriona and James 21st September 2012

I loved Catriona and James' Wedding Day. It was really relaxed and they were fun to photograph. I especially loved how they travelled from the Church to their reception venue with their guests, all of them on a bright red vintage London bus.
The whole day had a really nice feel to it, really relaxed and lots of laughter. A really sweet couple.
The reception was held at The Mansion at Roundhay Park, Leeds. Brilliant venue, fantastic staff and so well organised.
We nipped up the road to the Alhambra Gardens for some quiet time to shoot Catriona and James on their own before dashing back in the rain.
Here are some of my favourites from the day.

Danni and Mike's Wedding - Bishop Monkton and Goldsborough Hall

Here are just a few images from Danni and Mike's Wedding at the end of August. The ceremony took place at the gorgeous St John the Baptist Church at Bishop Monkton. It has the cutest Lich Gate and stream running underneath. The gate was beautifully decorated with flowers and it looked stunning. The reception was held at Goldsborough Hall, one of Yorkshires finest venues which I was really excited to work at.

The minimal lighting for the first dance was really atmospheric, love this image!

Congratulations Danni and Mike.

Catriona and James - Pre Wedding Shoot at Roundhay Park, Leeds

Catriona and James had their Pre Wedding Shoot on Sunday afternoon at Roundhay Park in Leeds. They are having a Church wedding followed by a reception at The Mansion at Rounday. Its next week!
It was really sunny and the park was really busy. I struggled to park for 20 minutes but eventually we made our way round to the top lake and tried to find some shady areas to shoot in.
Here is a couple of my faves from the day......

Looking forward to the Wedding. Not long to go!

Barney's Mini Shoot

This morning I was out on location for Barney's mini photo shoot. We used some nearby fields and nature trails for the shoot. Barney is brilliant in front of the camera, so easy to photograph. I really enjoyed it.
I decided to shoot with only one lens, my favourite 50mm. I could happily shoot with this constantly as I love   how creative you can be with it. Mini shoots are perfect for kids because they are just an hour long and usually brilliant fun, outside messing about and playing.
Here are a couple of favourites from this morning. Thanks Barney and Vicky!!

Steph and Richard - Wedding

Steph and Richard were married at St Peter's in Addingham on 11th June. Steph was very relaxed in the morning and finished getting ready at home with her family and 5 Bridesmaids.
Steph wore a beautiful halter neck gown and the Bridesmaids wore floor length deep blue dresses which looked fabulous.
After the ceremony we did a handful of family shots at the Church and the newly weds departed on a vintage tractor for the reception, which was held in a large Marquee at Steph's parents farm on Addingham Moorside.
We concentrated on very relaxed, informal shots thoughout the day and decided to do some photos of Steph and Richard after the wedding breakfast so everyone could mingle, relax and have dinner. As hoped, the light was fantastic and we got some lovely portraits of them in the fields and around the farm.
A couple of favourite shots from the day...

This seems a good point to introduce some of James' photography work, as he has assisted me on many weddings this year.  James is my brother and he has a fantastic talent for landscape photography already but I absolutely love his portrait work. So this next set of images are some more favourites from Steph and Richard's wedding, but are James' work. Love these! This is Steph and her sister, Bex.

Thanks to Steph and Richard and their families for making us so welcome, we had a great time sat with Stephs Uncles and Aunties during the wedding breakfast!

The last time I did a photo shoot for Hannah and Katie, they were tiny tots. I cant believe how much they have grown!
We had a glorious afternoon by the river and the girls ran around having fun. Here's a sneak at what they got up to.....

Thanks girls! x

Danni and Mike- Pre Wedding Shoot- Goldsborough Hall

This is a long overdue catch up as I have been so busy during this wedding season that my blog has been a little neglected!! Ill rewind back to July first, to Danni and Mike and their pre wedding shoot.

I met with Danni and Mike at Goldsborough Hall on a Monday in mid July. It was a dual visit for the shoot and for a venue visit as their wedding reception will be held there.
Once again the forecast was for rain! But when we arrived it was still dry so we started outside with the shoot to make the most of the weather.
Goldsborough is another beautiful venue, its very private and secluded and has lovely gardens.

We were followed around by Jeeves the resident cat, who really loved my camera bag and decided to get in on the action by clawing his way up my leg and sitting on my shoulder whilst I was photographing! You can spot him in quite a few shots.

It wasn't long before the rain started again and we decided to go inside to have a look around at the interior space. Danni and Mike have a Basset Hound called Hugo who isn't joining us on their wedding day, so Danni was keen to get a few shots of him inside Goldsborough Hall with his suit and tie on. Hopefully he will make it into their album.

Look at those ears!!

Charlotte and Gavin's Wedding, Allerton Castle.

Ever since Charlotte and Gavin booked their wedding photography, I have been really excited about it. Some venues just have so much creative potential and Allerton Castle is one of them. Also, photographing friends is always so exciting and emotional! Charlotte and Gavin are so relaxed and fun that I knew it would be a great wedding to shoot.
Charlotte and I visited Allerton Castle a few days before their wedding day to do some preparation work for the photos and to have a good look around at all the rooms they would be using.

Allerton Castle is an impressive Gothic revival stately home, built by The Lord Mowbray, Segrave and Stourton, the premier Baron of England as a monumental statement of his position within the English aristocracy. It's a beautiful venue.
On the morning of the wedding, Charlotte was getting ready in the Palace Suite with her Mum and Bridesmaids Lisa and Hannah.
The weather had been terrible all week and I was hoping that we would be able to make use of all the gardens and grounds and that guests would be outside for drinks and canapés. So I had my fingers and toes crossed for them.

After Charlotte made her celebrity entrance by carefully navigating the Grand Stairs, they were married in a very special, emotional ceremony in the Great Hall.
Then it was outside into the sunshine! Guests mingled in the Memorial Gardens and it was a lovely atmosphere. After the Wedding Breakfast , which was served in the fabulous Ballroom, the 3 of us disappeared  outside for more photography. There was gorgeous low evening sunlight which gave a fantastic glow and atmosphere to the shots. I was very excited and could have easily spent most of the evening on a huge photo shoot. However, there was an evening party to attend so we stayed out right until the last minute to make the most of the time then made our way back in.
Here are a handful of shots from the day.

Thank you so much Charlotte and Gav, I had a brilliant day. Congratulations.

Steph and Richard - Pre Wedding Shoot

I finally got to shoot Steph and Richards pre wedding photos on Sunday afternoon after postponing due to the continuing awful weather.
It was a last minute, "lets see how it is later" arrangement and it really paid off. We went up onto Addingham Moorside in the evening and we got great light and low evening sunshine. It was lovely. Nice to see some blue sky for a change. After the rain and storms the air was really clear and the Wharfe valley looked fantastic.
